Effects and Interactions

Toddalia asiatica has potent antiviral effects against H1N1 virus. Its compound extract is a potential candidate for the treatment of influenza, especially H1N1.

Mechanisms

The best antiviral effect of Toddalia asiatica was found with co-treatment of influenza virus infection (Lu et al., 2005). Such activity remained even when administrated 24 hours before and after the influenza infection. This lasting effect suggests both of the prevention and treatment potentials of the herb on influenza.
