Herbs and Herbal Extracts
Extracts from the fruits of Grifola frondosa (ME) or the ultra filtration-based fractions (MFs)
Effects and Interactions
The herbal extract may have anti-influenza effects. Extracts from the fruits of Grifola frondosa (ME) with a dose of 100 mug/ml can inhibit the growth of influenza A/Aichi/2/68 virus in Madin-Darby canine kidney (MDCK) cells (Obi et al., 2008). MF2, with molecular weights of 30 Kd to 100 Kd, had the strongest effect of 28% reduction, compared to the control.
